Directions :
From Carnwath:
Take
A70 for Edinburgh. Follow for 1.2 miles, take 1st road on left ,
signposted 'Auchengray'. Follow for 2.4 miles & take the 2nd
road on the left at the red sign for 'Lanarkshire Hardwoods'.
From
Edinburgh:
Follow A70 for Lanark. Pass right turn to West Calder
(B7008) and cross border into South Lanarkshire. Pass by the right
turn to 'Auchengray & Tarbrax' on the top of the hill and carry
on 5 miles. Take the next right for Auchengray, with woodland on
your left and open fields on your right. Follow for 2,4 miles &
take the 2nd road on the left at the red sign for 'Lanarkshire Hardwoods'.
From Livingston:
Follow A71 west to West Calder. Take left turn at lights , B7008 for Harburn and Carnwath. When you reach the T-junction with the A70 turn right and pick up the directions from Edinburgh above.
From Glasgow:
Take M8 to J6, then A73 to Carluke, then left on to Peebles road, the A721 which becomes A70 near Carnwath. Pick up directions from Carnwath , above.
From Falkirk / Stirling:
come off M9 at J4, taking A801 through to Whitburn, then A706 for Lanark, through Forth and hitting the A721 at a roundabout. Turn left for Carnwath and pick up directions from Carnwath, above, when you reach the village.
There are some short cuts but these are the main road routes.
