NB Within the above Timber Stocklist you will have 2 options :

1. SAWN Stocklist - rough sawn boards, kiln dried, priced per cubic metre or cubic foot. Usually for woodworkers with machinery to plane it themselves.

2. DRESSED Stocklist - kiln dried boards planed on 2 faces and ready for use internally.

Terms used in the stock list

WE : Waney edged - both edges of the board with natural edges the profile of the tree, with or without bark intact. Elsewhere termed as UE for 'unedged'.

SE : Square edged - both edges roughly straight, off the saw.

1SE : 1 square edge, 1 waney edge.

General Price Structure

for rough sawn stock when available, before discount, ex vat. No difference for thickness or length, only for widths over 400mm (see below).

Band 1 : £1024/cubic metre or £29/cubic foot
Ash, Beech, Birch, Chestnut, Cypress, Lime, Maple, Sycamore

Band 2 : £1235/cu m or £35/cu ft
Cedar, Elm, Holly, Oak, Spalted Beech

Band 3 : £1483/cu m or £42/cu ft
Cherry, other fruitwoods, Yew, Burry Elm /Oak, prime Spalted Beech

Band 4 : £1765/cu m or £50/cu ft
Boxwood, Laburnum, Mulberry, Walnut, Burr Elm

Band 5 : £2118/cu m or £60/cu ft
Pure Burr Elm, other highly figured cuts

Exceptions:
Boards over 400mm/16" wide go up 1 price band
Figured boards go up at least 1 band (quarter cut oak, ripple, flame, burr)
Unattractive defects such as knots, splits or stains are either measured out or will bring it down a band.
